We can now offer a solution for people having difficulty uploading and those unable to use our software, including Apple Mac users (Apple Mac Users Instructions below).
First of all, if you fill in the form on the right of this page, we can send you out our completely free Fotobook Pack, containing all you will need to complete your order. Pack details are also listed on the right. You will need a CD-R or CD-RW drive capable of writing to a normal blank CD. We will even supply you with a blank CD to copy your project to.
You now have to look for your Fotobook Projects folder, which by default is in c:\Windows\Program Files > Fotobook Editor. Within this folder should be a list of .dtp files (your projects). Find the one that you would like to order, and copy the file to the blank CD. Once you have done that, pop the CD into the pre paid envelope that we provided, fill in the supplied order form, then post it back to us.
Once we have recieved your CD, we will enter it into our system which will generate an automatic email back to you stating that the order has been successfully uploaded. Follow the onscreen instructions to fill in your delivery and payment details, then sit back and relax while we print your project, and send the finished Photo Book or Calendar to you within 10 working days.
* AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FONTS *
If you decide to use a Fotobook Pack, please be aware that if you use any fonts other than Helvetica, Times, Comic Sans, Arial or Verdana in your project, they will not be saved to disk with your project and may spoil the design of your book. We would ask that if you would like a certain font, please include it on your cd.

Unfortunately, we will not be offering an Apple Macintosh version of our software in the near future. However, we now have a service primarily aimed at Apple Mac users who can send their projects to us in a different way.
First of all, it would be beneficial to have a software package such as Adobe Photoshop or similar, and a cd or dvd recorder. Now to explain a little more about how you create your project. You will be designing complete Photo Book pages in Photoshop or similar, by placing photographs and text wherever you like, burning them to a cd, and sending it off to us to produce. You should follow the step by step guide below for a more detailed explanation and tips. Please read all the steps before beginning your project.
The Fotobook Offline Pack
If you would like to use our service, we can send you our Offline Pack, which includes a CD with the Photoshop Templates in .sit and .zip formats, an instruction booklet, a blank CD for putting your files on, an order form, and a pre-paid return envelope for sending your project to us. Just fill in the form on the right of the page to request a pack.
STEP 1
To prepare your project for sending to us, you will first need to decide which product you would like to purchase. We have a wide range of products which all have differing sizes, so it's best to know what Photoshop document size you're going to need to begin with. You can view the products pages on this website for the exact sizes.
STEP 2
The next step is to start placing images and text onto your Photoshop document however you like, either using our set layered templates on offer, or your own blank pages. We would highly recommend using the layered templates however, because they show where to avoid placing text where it may be cut off or lost in the binding process. Once you are happy with your page design, you can save your work. Go to Step 3 for important saving instructions.
Please keep in mind that because it is a bound book, every odd page, 1, 3, 5 . . . etc. is on the right hand side of the book, and every even page, 2, 4, 6 . . . etc., is on the left hand side. The binding process of the book means that approximately 10mm will be hidden in the spine and will not be visible, so avoid placing text or important photo information too close to this area. The binding area will be on the right hand side of a left hand page, and the left hand side of a right hand page! It sounds confusing, but it becomes very clear once you take a look at the templates.
STEP 3
When you save your images, it is important to name and number them in the order in which they are to be placed inside the Photo Book eg. Image_01.jpg > Image_02.jpg > . . . . . image_35.jpg etc. This lets us place the images in the book exactly how you want them, and avoids any disappointment when you receive your book. It is also important if you are using one of our supplied layered templates, that you hide the layers which are not needed, before flattening the image and saving it as either a .jpg or .tif file. If you are not using a template, please make sure that your images are kept as RGB, and have a resolution of 300dpi.
STEP 4
Once all your images are named in the order in which you want them, burn them to the supplied 'My Projects' cd, and send it to us, along with the order form to the freepost address below.
